Dr. Tunya Griffin is a distinguished expert with a multifaceted background in business strategy, psychology, and spiritual development. As the visionary behind BeBrave University, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to empowering Black women through tailored coaching and consulting services. Dr. Griffin’s approach combines her extensive experience with a genuine passion for fostering personal and professional growth.

Under her leadership, BeBrave University has become a cornerstone for creating a supportive community that celebrates the unique perspectives and voices of Black women. Dr. Griffin's dedication to providing customized guidance and a diverse curriculum underscores her mission to equip individuals with the tools and insights necessary for overcoming obstacles and achieving sustainable success. Her expertise and commitment make her a pivotal figure in the journey towards authentic growth and empowerment.

Dr. Griffin's dissertation Overcoming Barriers To Leadership Equality In The Black Church addresses the relationship among race, gender, and cultural perceptions of leadership equality. Dr. Griffin’s dissertation is published and can be found on ProQuest.

Dr. Griffin holds a bachelor’s in organizational management, a Master of Divinity, and a Doctorate of Ministry from Northeastern Seminary at Roberts Wesleyan College. In her most recent role as Associate Director of University-Community Partnerships and Co-Instructor of “Community Sustainability” at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). She worked alongside community members, nonprofit organizations, public schools, churches, and governmental institutions to address the adverse structural, social, and economic conditions that profoundly affect livability, education, and prosperity — creating a stronger, more vibrant city.

Dr. Tunya Griffin, a devoted servant of God, has dedicated her life to ministry in its many forms. From sweeping floors to serving as a pastor, she has embraced every opportunity to share God's love and light with those in need. With over 20 years of experience under the guidance of Bishop Willie and Pastor Angelina Flanders at Temple of Holy Praise, Dr. Griffin cultivated her passion for education and spiritual growth.

Driven to deepen her understanding of faith and leadership, Dr. Griffin pursued higher education, earning a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Northeastern Seminary. Throughout her academic journey, she continued her pastoral duties, leading two United Methodist Church congregations and serving as a congregational pastor at Zion Dominion in Rochester, NY.

In response to the unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Griffin embraced innovation, launching The Sanctuary Church online in 2024. This digital platform allowed her to provide solace and spiritual nourishment to her community despite physical limitations. Furthermore, she established Bee Brave University, an extension of The Sanctuary Church, aimed at equipping believers with the knowledge and skills needed for effective ministry.

As a gifted teacher, preacher, and prophetess, Dr. Tunya Griffin eagerly anticipates the 2025 relaunch of The Sanctuary online. Firmly rooted in her conviction that God's timing is perfect, she remains steadfast in her mission to uplift, inspire, and guide individuals in their faith journey, firmly believing she has been called to the kingdom "for such a time as this."
